GFP or Green Fluorescent Protein is a protein that emits green light when exposed to UV light. This protein first identified in gellyfish Aequorea victoria by Martin Chalfie, Osamu Shimomura, and Roger Y. Tsien who were awarded 2008 nobel prize in chemistry.
