PCNA or
Proliferation Cell Nuclear Antigen is a protein found in eukaryote's cells. This protein is a DNA clamp and also is counterpart of beta clamp of E.Coli. This protein encircles the
DNA with assistance of RPC and allows the accompanying DNA polymerase to attach firmly to DNA and thus increasing the processivity of DNA polymerization at site of DNA replication or
DNA repair.
